Research & Development
Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs are used to determine
various critical parameters in Electrical Designs and
to arrive at optimized design solution much faster. Advanced
Computer Programs are used in Electro-Mechanical Analysis.
Impulse Voltage distribution and field analysis are used
to determine Electrical stresses. The leakage flux can
cause local over heating if not controlled. The complex
problems which arise out of axial and radial leakage
flux are controlled by selecting the width and thickness
in optimized ratio. Alternatively use of continuous transposed
conductors are recommended. Computerized plotting is
done for preparation of General Arrangement as well as
detailed manufacturing drawings.
Design
Widest range of analogue electrical indicating and measuring
instruments to indicate and measure electrical properties.
Our R & D division is greatly appreciated by our
customers as we are fully geared up to develop EHV Transformers
rating up to 150MVA with in its present capacity of 3000
MVA PA and are looking forward for higher rating Transformers.
Capacity
We have two factories at Mumbai & Silvassa which are equipped to manufacture
meters & transformers respectively. Our Silvassa
Factory is a purpose designed modern transformer factory
built on a "Green Field Site" for the manufacture of
HV & EHV Power Transformers up to 220 kV Class 150
MVA. Both production sites have extensive Test facilities
utilizing highest quality test equipment. Many of our
Overseas Buyers & Consultants visited our factory
and appreciated the facilities to be equal or superior to many European facilities.
In our both the factories we have total installed capacity
of 3000 MVA Per Annum. Thus, we have adequate capacity
to manufacture the transformers of your requirement.
As a result of this, turnover of our Company is growing
more than 50% in the last couple of years.
We also enjoy market share of about 11 % of Transformers
manufactured in India in the medium rating Transformers.
Further we are manufacturing transformers from 10 KVA
to 150 MVA 220kV Class which is a very wide range & meets
all requirements of customers under one roof.
Quality Control
Transformers of various ranges manufactured by the company
have successfully passed rigorous short circuit & impulse
tests at prestigious laboratories like CPRI-Bhopal (Central
Power Research Institute) and ERDA-Baroda (Electrical
Research & Development Association).
IMP also manufactures ON LOAD TAP CHANGER (OLTC) a system
improvement equipment which is an integral component
of a Transformer and useful for changing the taps without
interrupting the supply.
Systems Control
Apart from its quality products IMP is also found to
and confirmed to the Quality System Standard and certified
with ISO 9001 for its Design, Development, Manufacture,
Repair & Supply of Transformers, On Load Tap Changers & other
products.
Type Tests
IMP has conducted Impulse and Other type tests on various
rating of transformers upto 220kV - 100000KVA. IMP has
got it's 25000KVA 132kV Class transformers successfully
short circuit tested which puts us in a Top 5 Transformer
Manufacturers in India.
Design, Quality and Reliability Factors
- We have got the best designs available. The designs
are made on computer to give best possible designs
at optimum costs. The drawings are also made on computer
i.e. CAD Systems. More than 5000 designs are ready
in our systems.
- We are an ISO-9001 Company and thus we strictly
follow the quality procedures to give consistent
quality ALWAYS. We are the first Transformer company
to get this in India and the same is also renewed
in year 2000 after surveillance audit.
- We are one of the Govt. Recognized Export House
and in addition to this, we are NATIONAL EXPORT AWARD
WINNER for the year 1994-95 for our Excellent Export
Performance in addition to the two awards from EEPC
on Regional & National level.

Delivery
Team work and co-ordination within IMP is so professionalised
and having 2 Factories that it offers the best delivery
schedule to meet customer's requirements which is difficult
for any other manufacturer to match considering the time
taken for transformers being tailor made item. Our production
capability is that we are in a position to give 1 No.
5MVA Transformer per day and 1 No 25 MVA per 5 days and
therefore we can meet required deliveries at any time.
Having 2 factories we have facility to re-schedule our
planning to give priority to requirement. For example,
if 25MVA transformer is required, the same can be delivered
within 10 weeks from drawing approval.
Performance
IMP transformers are giving trouble-free-service to its
valued customers as stated above and failure rate is
almost negligible compared to its other competitors.

We are in the field of transformers for last 3 decades
and are supplying to all State Electricity Boards, NTPC,
BES&T, PGCIL, IRRIGATION DEPT, etc.
We are also supplying our transformers to various Private
Customers and Power Projects and Project contractors. 
To name few we have supplied our transformers to ABB,
Birlas, TATAS, KEC International, L & T, SPIC, CGL,
Jyoti Structures LTD, Nagarjuna Construction, BSES, Tata
Projects, DLF, Siemens, Kopran, Thapar, Kinetic, Videocon,
ITC, Ispat, SAIL, NTPC, Defence, BCCL, Lloyds, Railways
and to various customers where M/s.EIL, M.N.Dastur & Co.,
DLF, Tata Consultancy, MECON, NTPC are Consultants. Even
Transformer Giants, M/s ABB and M/s.Crompton Greaves
Ltd. have placed 3 successive bulk orders on us for various
Distribution & Power Transformers upto 132kV/25MVA
rating which speaks of our creditability.
We are regularly exporting our transformers to UK, New
Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana,
Dubai, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Nepal, Bangladesh etc. & are
getting repeated orders from them.
Thus we are one of the few companies who are supplying
the transformers to all 3 Sectors i.e. Public Sector,
Private Sector & Exports. We have received repeated
orders from all the above customers which proves our
quality and creditability.
Our Managing Director is/was a member of Executive Committee
of IEEMA which is the largest association of electrical
items in India.
Some of our senior engineers are routinely called upon
by power utilities during finalisation of specification
of transformers.

Price Advantages
- Sales Tax Exemption
We can supply our transformers from our Silvassa
Unit which is situated in Tax Free Zone & thus
our customers can get benefit of 4.50% straight
away in pricing which is a big saving on a transformer
price on a Net Payable basis.
- OLTC
Since we are a manufacturer of OLTC & RTCC
only the cost of price of the same is added to the
transformer price and thus our prices are most competitive
than any other manufacturer who has to add the purchase
price of OLTC from other OLTC manufacturer.

We have a well maintained sales service dept. which is
actively attending to customers' needs and does a feedback
analysis regularly.
